Furoshiki is a Japanese technique to pack with fabric in an aesthetic AND practical way. This is of course ecological since we don't have to buy your gift wrapping, you can do it yourself! You can of course reuse your furoshiki, it is enough if your fabric is stronger. Having a fabric with pretty patterns adds a plus, it's up to you to choose.
To make a furoshiki you will need:
Fabric from old clothes, sheets, etc...
- A pair of scissors
- From the thread
- A needle
- A pen
- One meter
How to create your furoshiki:
- Take a cloth and cut it into squares. This fabric can come from old clothes, it can have a nice design to be used as a gift wrapping!
- Place your gift at one end of the fabric and gently start wrapping the gift.
- Now take both ends of the fabric, return the gift and tie a knot!
There you go! That's it! Your furoshiki style gift wrapping is ready!
